Business Property - What if a business can’t file by the listing deadline?

Businesses may request an extension to file their property listing, but requests must be submitted to Wake County Tax Administration by January 31.

Extension requests may be submitted through the County’s Online Property Listing system or in writing on company letterhead. Requests must be filed online, delivered in person, or mailed with a US Postal Service or overnight carrier postmark no later than January 31.

If an extension is approved, property listings may be filed:

• By mail: Postmarked by April 15

• Online: Submitted through the Online Property Listing system by May 15
