Yes. Property owners may appeal the value, situs, or taxability of property within 30 days of the initial notice of value. For listed property, this is typically the tax bill date. For discovered property, the deadline is 30 days from the date of the discovery notice.
All appeals must be submitted in writing. You may submit your appeal at https://wake.gov/bpphelp or mail it to Wake County Tax Administration, PO Box 2331, Raleigh, NC 27602. It is recommended that you obtain a certificate of mailing from the US Postal Service for proof of timely submission.
