How do I report the death of a real estate owner?

If a real estate owner has passed away, the person responsible for listing the property must notify us at the Wake County Department of Tax Administration. Please complete an online request form at https://wake.gov/rehelp, and we will contact you with more information.

Please correct any deed-related information with the Register of Deeds.
