When a deed is recorded at the Wake County Register of Deeds (ROD) Office, the deed is indexed in the ROD Land Records software. The tax office then pulls the deed information, including names, dates, and property location, from the ROD system.
These deeds are processed by tax agents in the order they are indexed by the Register of Deeds Office. The Wake County Tax Office strives to update ownership of each parcel within 30 days after a deed has been recorded, but the process can exceed 30 days under some circumstances. If it has been more than 30 days, please feel free to contact us.
