How and when can I appeal my value? What is the deadline to appeal?

A request for a formal appeal to the Board of Equalization and Review can be filed online using the Wake County Tax Administration Portal at https://services.wake.gov/TaxPortal or in writing. Submissions may also be hand-delivered. Please be sure to keep a copy for your records.

Formal appeals may be submitted online, by mail, or in person beginning January 1. The deadline to submit an appeal is set by the Board of Equalization & Review (BOER).

The BOER convened on 4/8/2026 and set the last day to submit appeals on 4/22/2026.
