Appeal - How will I be notified of the decision?

For each level of appeal, you will receive a decision letter in the mail.

Decision letters for BOER appeals are mailed within 30 days of the hearing date. At the Property Tax Commission (PTC) level, appeals require a signed settlement agreement executed by a Wake County appraiser and the property owner or an authorized representative. Once signed, the agreement will be submitted to the PTC for review and approval. A final order will be issued upon the Commission’s approval of the agreement.
